Woodcutters

Woodcutters are a Sussex-based acoustic duo and trio, playing versions of the classics through to decent stuff from recent years. We are available to hire for weddings and parties of all types throughout the South East of England, indoors or out.

Gigs

    Our Set-Up

    Our set-up is a 2- or 3-piece acoustic band with full, professional PA and lights. 6-string and 12-string guitars, upright bass, stompboxes, and glorious three-part vocals make up the full trio. We are suitable for venues of any size - we can play in your lounge through to a full festival stage.

    We regularly play both indoors and outside (including without mains power if necessary), and we're happy to travel throughout the South East of England.

    Woodcutters are a 3-piece band positioned equally in a straight line, with 1x floor monitor each.

    From stage right to left:

    • Chris: Electric Upright Bass, 2x stomp boxes, backing vocals
    • Tom: 12-string acoustic guitar, lead & backing vocals
    • Isaac: 6-string acoustic guitar, lead & backing vocals (phantom power)

    Bass and both guitars are all DI via pedalboards (we have no backline)

    Bass & 12-string are XLR balanced outputs

    6-string is 1/4" jack out

    Stomps: both boxes are 1/4" jack out

    Primary stomp is a kick drum sound

    Secondary stomp is used for snare/percussion

    We prefer to use our own microphones

    Former session guitarist, full time tutor and performer for over 20 years, Tom has played guitar on shows for Channel 4 and the BBC, and has played gigs from the Soho Soundhouse & Water Rats to The Dubliners in Sweden & Denmark. There's not a single song that he thinks he doesn't know how to play. The rest of the band indulges him.
    Isaac Sydenham
    Vocals, 6-String Acoustic Guitar

    Isaac got his first guitar when he was 3 years old and hasn't stopped playing since. He's been performing for over 10 years and studied music at The British and Irish Institute of Modern Music to degree level, playing with many different bands and styles. "After playing with so many musicians in so many situations I've realised how much I love playing with these guys. It's by far the most satisfying band I've played in. Love it." ~ said Isaac at knife point.

    Chris has been playing bass guitar and doublebass for over 35 years in bands and orchestras of all styles. With only 4 strings to tune perhaps once per gig, he is the envy of his band members.
